Terms of Use

These terms govern your access to and use of lmicalculator.com.au (the “Site”, “we”, “us”, “our”), run by the operator of LMI Calculator Australia. By using the Site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

These terms work alongside our privacy policy and disclaimer. If they conflict, the disclaimer prevails on calculator results and estimates, and the privacy policy prevails on personal information.

The Site is intended for people in Australia aged 18 or over. If you use it for an organisation, such as a brokerage or a financial planning practice, you confirm that you can accept these terms on its behalf.

The Site is a general information and estimation tool. It is not credit assistance, financial product advice, tax advice or legal advice, and using it does not create an adviser and client relationship. Read our disclaimer before acting on anything you read or calculate here.

You agree to use the Site lawfully and in good faith. You must not:

• present our estimates as a quote, or as a lender’s or insurer’s own figure;
• use the Site to break Australian law or infringe anyone else’s rights;
• send automated traffic, scrapers or bots that burden the Site (occasional good-faith research crawling that respects robots.txt and reasonable rate limits is fine);
• frame, mirror or republish the Site, or large parts of it, without our written permission;
• try to get around security measures, upload malware or interfere with the Site’s availability.

The text, design, code, calculator engines and arrangement of content on the Site belong to the operator of LMI Calculator Australia or its licensors and are protected by Australian and international copyright law. Figures quoted from lenders, insurers and government bodies remain theirs; we name and link the source of each one. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

You may:

• view, print and save pages for your own personal, non-commercial use;
• quote short extracts with attribution and a link to the original page;
• share links to any page.

You may not:

• reproduce substantial parts of the Site, including calculator results presented as your own service, without written permission;
• use our name or domain in a way that suggests an endorsement or affiliation that does not exist.

If you send us feedback, a correction or a suggestion, you give us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use it to run and improve the Site, including working it into our content. You confirm it is yours to share and does not contain anyone else's confidential personal information.

The Site links to lenders, insurers and government bodies (for example firsthomebuyers.gov.au, ato.gov.au and state revenue offices) so you can check our sources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability or privacy practices.

The Site carries no advertising, no sponsored content and no affiliate links. No lender, broker or insurer pays for anything we publish.

We aim to keep the Site available and current but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may add, change or remove calculators, pages, addresses or data at any time. We may also update these terms; the current version is always the one at this address, and using the Site after a change means you accept it.

To the extent the law allows, the Site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, including warranties of accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the extent the law allows, the operator of LMI Calculator Australia and its contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect or consequential loss (including a higher LMI premium than estimated, a declined loan, lost savings or lost opportunity) arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Where the law lets us restrict our liability for breaching such a guarantee, we restrict it, at our option, to supplying the content again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.

You agree to indemnify the operator of LMI Calculator Australia against any claim, loss or expense (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these terms or your unlawful use of the Site.

We may suspend or end your access to the Site if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms or put other users or the Site at risk. The sections on intellectual property, liability, indemnity and governing law continue to apply after that.

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts and the Federal Court of Australia for any dispute about them.
